How do I edit my profile?

First, make sure you're logged in. Then, in the upper-right corner, click on your name or from the "Your Stuff" drop-down, select Profile.

 

This will bring you to your profile page.

 

Here you can update your status and take a look at:

  • Your Stuff - content you created
  • Recent Activity - content you created or any replies, comments, ratings you have made to other members' posts
  • Friends - a complete list of all your connections
  • Private Messages - any private messages you have created or received from other members

 

On the right-hand side, in the ACTIONS toolbox, you have more things you can do, and this is where you can "Edit your profile". Click on the Edit profile link.This will bring you to your profile page where you can make edits.

 

On this page you can also change your Display Name, you can add a Company name, a fun fact about yourself or your Twitter, LinkedIn or facebook profile information.

 

Some fields like First Name, Last Name, Occupation, Country and Password are managed by the PTC.com Account Management page. It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to reflect from within your PlanetPTC Community profile.

 

Things to note on how your profile information is handled throughout the community:

 

Located under your last name are two radio buttons Show / Hide  
  • Selecting "Show" will display your First Name and Last Name.
  • Selecting "Hide" will indeed hide your First Name and Last Name. Your Display Name will be what is shown to other members. Be sure to update your Display Name and ensure it doesn't contain your email address.

 

 

    Located under your email address are two radio buttons Show / Hide
    • Selecting "Show" will display your email address on your profile page for all members to see.
    • Selecting "Hide" will indeed hide your email address on your profile page. Be sure to update your Display Name and ensure it doesn't contain  your email address. Your email address will show if it is your username/Display Name.

     

      Don't forget to upload a profile photo and select an avatar from the avatar . This brings a little more realism to your profile.
