Creo Parametric CAD Modeling Challenge
For this first Creo Parametic CAD modeling challenge, you will be creating a full assembly of Plowie (aka Dozer) from the FIRST FRC game videos. You need to know basic Creo Parametric assmebly constraints along with Kinematic constratints. It is a fairly simple model to create, but you will need to master Creo Parametric Layers to make sure you can find the critical connection Axes in each model.
HINT: Creo Layers can be found in the Model Tree
When complete, you should have Pin joints to control the wheel rotoation and a Pin joint to control the rotation of the plow. Wheels can spin freely, but the plow should be constrained with a Min/Max value to make sure the plow cannot intersect with the body.
Extra Credit
- Assembly the first wheel to the body using the center axiis and pattern the other wheels
- Create a sub assembly of two wheels that can be added to the main assembly.
HINT: The wheels should offset the width of the body +.250 for some clearance. - Create your own plow model. There are many ways to create the curved shape, experiment with some options.
- Surface from boundaries
- Flat surface with FreeForm applied
- Style Surface
- FreeStyle
- Assign different colors to the model
